An Update on Our International Partnerships

Late last year, we announced partnerships with several of the world's leading ride services, including China's Didi and Southeast Asia's Grab. With more than 15 million people traveling between our continents every year for business, leisure, and education, we came together with a shared goal to  improve the international travel experience for our passengers.

This week, we're kicking off our first public betas. Soon, Didi, Grab, and Lyft passengers traveling abroad will be able to request rides using the apps they already know and love, and be matched with reliable local rides in the country they're visiting. Imagine you're a Didi user traveling to San Francisco – you can step off the plane, tap your Didi app, and get a Lyft from SFO to a taqueria in the Mission or a business meeting in Menlo Park.

Our seamless, behind-the-scenes product integrations mean there's no need to download a new app, create another account, or set up your payment information again. You don't even need to carry the local currency to pay for your rides or explain where you want to go in an unfamiliar language.

Our work with Didi and Grab will expand over the course of the year. This week, Didi passengers traveling to the U.S. will be able to request a ride with Lyft. (Lyft drivers – get ready to greet your new passengers soon!) In the coming weeks, Grab and Lyft passengers traveling between the U.S. and Southeast Asia will be able to ride on partner platforms. Later this year, we'll expand with additional partners in more countries.

Together, we're making it easier and more enjoyable to get a ride, no matter where you are.
